Sterling set to seal switch to Chelsea

RAHEEM STERLING has agreed personal terms with Chelsea after informing Manchester City that it’s time for him to leave. Sportsmail understand­s the England internatio­nal has finalised a contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit worth around £315,000 a week. The two clubs are still working on a fee — expected to be around £55million — but it will have to be agreed by the end of the week if Sterling is to join Thomas Tuchel’s squad on their flight to the US on Saturday for a pre-season tour. Sterling, who is entering the final 12 months of a £300,000-a-week contract at City, will become the first marquee signing under Chelsea’s new ownership, spearheade­d by chairman Todd Boehly.

quit Rugby Park for Newcastle. The 17-year-old centre-back, who captained Scotland at this summer’s Under-17s European Championsh­ip, is a product of Killie’s academy and made his debut at 16. McArthur moved to the Premier League outfit for an undisclose­d fee and will go into the Magpies’ Under-18s squad. McInnes told Kilmarnock’s official website: ‘We understood, like all Scottish clubs, that we’re vulnerable to the richest league in the world with all the money available there. ‘We wish Charlie all the best. He will always be welcome back.’

■ ROBBIE NEILSON says Joe Wright has made a good first impression on his second chance with Hearts. The defender is currently on trial with the Tynecastle club and scored in Tuesday night’s 7-0 victory over East Fife. Neilson said: ‘I liked what I saw, so he needs to keep that up. He’ll keep playing and training, so we’ll see how he does.’
