Ed’s baby name is out of this world

- By Niamh Lynch

SINGER Ed Sheeran, who became a father again in May, has reached across the solar system to find a name for his baby girl.

He and his wife Cherry Seaborn revealed yesterday that they have named their twomonth-old second child Jupiter.

‘Ed and Cherry loved the name both in terms of what it stands for and its uniqueness. Everyone thinks Jupiter works perfectly for her,’ a close source told the Sun newspaper.

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system and the fifth from the sun. It was named after the king of the gods in Roman mythology. The couple’s firstborn, also a girl and now almost two years old, is called Lyra Antarctica.

They announced on Instagram in May that they had had ‘another beautiful baby girl’, adding: ‘We are both so in love with her and over the moon to be a family of four.’

The source added: ‘Behind closed doors Cherry has been gushing over becoming a mum again. She and Ed really are a match made in heaven. Their family is beautiful.’

Before the birth Sheeran, 31, and Miss Seaborn, 30, had reportedly told only close family members about the pregnancy. The couple were childhood sweethearts who met at school, rekindled their romance in 2014, then married five years later.

The singer is currently on a world tour that takes him across Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He recently finished a run of five shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The Tour Edition of his album Equals includes Welcome To The World, a poignant song about becoming a father for the first time. He sings: ‘I heard your heartbeat and lost every word. Just stood there quietly taking in the sound of our love.’

The song ends with a recording of the couple feeling the unborn child’s kick.
