TheY have shelled out thousands creating their sprawling Suffolk estate.

And now ed Sheeran, 31, and his wife Cherry Seaborn, 30, have splashed out on a beach getaway.

The couple have spent £650,000 on a converted railway carriage on a barren strip of land on the south coast of england.

The two-bedroom home was bought under Miss Seaborn’s name at the end of last year, months before the birth of the couple’s second daughter.

The centrepiece is an original 1880s train carriage from the former Southern Railway which is surrounded by a modern extension to the front and rear in keeping with local planning restrictions.

The carriage is an open-plan living space, and is situated next to a compact kitchen and dining area with sliding glass doors leading out to a small garden offering views of the Channel. Other features include a wood burner while some areas of the property have underfloor heating.

The couple are surrounded by a handful of neighbouring lodges, local amenities and a pub. The remote, uncluttered landscape could prove to be the perfect getaway for the notoriously private couple, and a welcome break for Sheeran who is currently on a world tour that will take him across europe, Australia and New Zealand.

he recently finished a run of five shows at Wembley Stadium.

his latest purchase is in addition to the £3.7million Suffolk estate, dubbed ‘Sheeranville’, which he first purchased in 2012. The award-winning artist has slowly accumulated five properties on the land as well as a football pitch, an orchard, an outdoor kitchen, entertainment area and a ‘wildlife pond’, which has been the subject of complaints in recent years.

he shares the estate with Miss Seaborn and their daughters Lyra, one, and Jupiter, whose birth was announced in May.
