FIELD FACTS
From Michael Jones, Country Houses and Partner at Knight Frank Last year, 16 estates were sold in Scotland with a total area in excess of 93,000 acres of land. Around 50 per cent of buyers came from overseas. Farm land continues to be in strong demand. Houses with water frontage, either on the coast or on an inland loch, command a significant premium. Scottish castles continue to attract interest from across the globe. The Edinburgh market has been very active, particularly for flats in the £200,000 to £600,000 bracket. Prime New Town houses over £1,000,000 have also been selling quickly. (Contributed by Edward DouglasHome, Head of Edinburgh City Sales)
