-

Astunning show lodge has opened within the first phase of a luxury gated residential development called Balloch Park on the prestigious 120-acre Mains of Taymouth Country Estate & Golf Course in Kenmore, Perthshire.

The two-bedroom show lodge showcases the superior quality of external and interior finish of the 13 country lodge style properties, which are currently for sale within the first phase of this two and three-bedroom development. These prime plots overlook the river, with direct access from the entrance of the site onto Drummond Hill with its network of paths and trails for walking, cycling and horse trekking.

Designed by Fearn MacPherson Architects of Aberfeldy, the show lodges’ sumptuous interiors and furnishings offer a mix of contemporary styles blended with a traditional country feel that’s based on a palette of warm neutral colours and tones. The aim is to promote an easy living feel combined with low cost luxury living, therefore all lodges are south-facing with patio doors leading from the open plan lounge and dining area. They also benefit from fully-integrated kitchens with separate utility rooms, en-suite bedrooms, an optional separate family bathroom and full double glazing and central heating.

A total of 38 country lodges are being built by Blairish Restorations of Aberfeldy in this private sheltered glade in the spectacular grounds of the estate, only five miles from the bustling town of Aberfeldy.

With prices starting f rom £170,000 for t he t wo-bedroom country lodge, Balloch Park is appealing to those looking for a second home out-with the city and those taking early retirement. Balloch Park is framed by unrivalled scenery, expansive mature forests, mountains and countryside.

The five-star Mains of Taymouth Country Estate, which neighbours Balloch Park, is home to an award-winning nine-hole golf course, Courtyard Bar & Brasserie, delicatessen and riding stables, which can be enjoyed by lodge owners. The picturesque village of Kenmore, which has a strong community feel with lots of events and societies, is a short walk away with its own hotel.

The first phase is due for completion in late autumn. Commenting on the development, Robin Menzies, owner of the Mains of Taymouth Country Estate and director of Balloch Park, said: ‘We have an established reputation in the luxury self-catering and holiday home market so this was a natural progression for us to develop permanent homes within the estate grounds. Balloch Park has been sympathetically designed to suit the location and we’ve been pleased with the response from many home owners with an interest in the active outdoors, and those in their 50s or more looking to downsize to a smaller country retreat and those wanting to invest in a second home.’
