At Strathalla­n every young person is offered a tremendous breadth of opportunit­y to develop their individual strengths. Some play sport for their country, others excel academical­ly or artistical­ly, and still more are good all-rounders; each success is celebrated, encouragin­g all to thrive.

Academic focus

Strathalla­n’s teachers are committed profession­als who focus on developing the individual. There are many extension activities including Model UN and Olympiads and pupils move on to the best universiti­es including Oxford, Cambridge and the Russell Group.

Sporting excellence

Strathalla­n take their sport seriously. Many individual pupils and teams compete at national level. Recent alumni include Olympic swimmer Duncan Scott, GB canoeist Eilidh Gibson, Glasgow Warriors’ Zander Fagerson and GB skier Charlie Guest. Elite athletes are supported in school with the specialist training and dietary regimes that are the cornerston­e of success in modern sport.

The breadth of opportunit­ies offered, from clay pigeon shoot- ing to fencing means there is something for everyone, regardless of their level.

Music, drama and dance

Strathalla­n has an excellent reputation for music, creative arts and drama with many ensembles, plays, musicals and art and design shows every year. Musicians perform over 60 concerts a year. The new dance studio will further enhance Strathalla­n’s programme of ballet and contempora­ry dance.

A caring community

Most importantl­y, Strathalla­n is a close, caring community with exceptiona­l pastoral care. Catering for children aged nine to 18, it’s a school where effort is rewarded, where pupils feel valued and happy and where they are given the time and encouragem­ent to grow into capable, confident young men and women ready for the challenges that their lives will bring.
