From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the friendly staff in this impressive hotel with breathtaking views across Loch Lomond. Cameron House is warm and comfy with tartan and tweed stylishly blending the modern and traditional. We stayed in the beautiful ‘Glenmorangie’ which is one of the whisky suites in the original part of the hotel. The Arran Aromatics toiletries, smooth sheets and comfy bed made a night here a fantastic way to recharge the batteries.

There is a great choice of activities in and around the hotel. It was lovely to use the pools, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi (and flume) in the leisure club to work up an appetite for dinner. The Spa is only a short distance away for those who would enjoy a little extra pampering.

We enjoyed drinks in the vibrant Great Scots Bar before heading to the Cameron Grill for a truly delicious dinner. The menu here offered excellent choice and the dishes served up were cooked to perfection. The Highland Deer not only tasted fantastic but looked amazing too and the steak was grilled beautifully.

After a good nights’ sleep and a hearty breakfast we had a walk around the grounds and wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what is on offer. Playing golf, flying birds of prey, clay pigeon shooting, a champagne cruise or a flight in the sea plane.

Our lasting impression was that the high standard of Cameron House is embodied in its fabric and in its personnel who were always helpful and engaging. Prices from £159 per room per night with breakfast
