The Three Chimneys, Skye

One word to describe The Three Chimneys: SENSATIONAL. On a crisp January afternoon following a four hour walk on Skye, we arrived at The House Over-By in time for a cup of Earl Grey tea with miniature home baked delicacies including tiny scones with crème fraîche and homemade jam.

As the sun set over Loch Dunvegan we sat in our Scandi-style luxurious room with beautiful flowers, Bose speakers, Le Spa balms and crisp cotton linen. The bathroom was warm, spacious and immaculate.

Dinner was an experience. We were escorted to the restaurant which was a lovely touch. We sat in a nook, looking over the atmospheric dining room and were treated to the eight course tasting menu – a sumptuous experience. Dish upon dish of exquisite, beautifully presented food from Loch Harport langoustines and Dunvegan oysters to goose with marmalade and coriander seeds created by Scott Davies, a truly talented chef. To accompany this we took the wine flight which was an equally polished affair. A perfect amount of food and exquisite service from Petrie, Charlotte, Sylvia and the team.

The Three Chimneys is in extremely good shape and certainly lives up to its reputation. After a very good night’s sleep we had a delicious breakfast. Well done Eddie and Shirley and The Three Chimneys. Prices from £380 per room per night DB&B
