TRIED & TESTED
WHAT IS IT:
Scarpa Women’s Trek GTX Boot. Scarpa, RRP £200. www. scarpa.co.uk
I WANT IT BECAUSE:
With a durable leather upper and Gore-Tex lining, this sturdy trekking and hiking boot keeps feet dry. It fits a slim heel well, and provides good ankle support.
USEFUL FOR:
Everything from a countryside stroll to a snowy hike.
HIGH POINT:
Although this boot offers great waterproof protection, it’s also breathable so your feet stay comfy.
LOW POINT:
The boot feels quite heavy when you initially put it on, but it’s actually fairly lightweight to walk in.
WHAT IS IT:
Women’s Chore Tall Boots RRP £100 from The Original Muck Boot Company www.muckbootcompany.co.uk
I WANT IT BECAUSE:
With eight horses and a livery yard to run I spend a lot of time on yard duties and bringing horses in and out of the mud.
USEFUL FOR:
Pretty much any task you need a good sturdy pair of welly-type boots for that are not too heavy to wear for hours. Plus these are neoprene so very warm and have a reinforced toe.
HIGH POINT:
Warm, lightweight, very comfy and now in a slimmer design.
LOW POINT:
Still a little wide for me around the top of my calves.
