The much-anticipated Cramond Residence, Edinburgh’s finest care home, is set to open its doors very soon.
Located to the north-west of Edinburgh, in the tranquil village of Cramond, the Residence will provide the highest quality care for older people, including nursing, respite and dementia care.
It has been designed to promote small community living and comprises of nine distinct houses, each with eight or nine generous en suite bedrooms, as well as a selection of shared lounges, dining areas and activity spaces, creating a real homefrom-home feel.
Outside, beautiful, landscaped gardens will provide a peaceful place to walk, sit, and relax, while the top-floor terrace features spectacular views. Exclusive, deluxe rooms with doors opening out onto private patios are also available.
The interior of Cramond Residence reflects well-known areas across Edinburgh through the mix of materials, colour, art and objects used in the design. Creating and cherishing memories is also an important part of the care provided and picking up on historical themes of the city helps to create a sense of nostalgia.
Sports enthusiasts will be at home in Ravelston House, where golfing hats displayed on hat stands and check curtains pay homage to the classic attire worn at Ravelston Golf Club. Those who like the great outdoors will love the quirky, pheasant wallpaper in Braid Hills House, reflecting the wildlife found in the area and admirers of the arts will appreciate the mixed gold frames and navy wall colour of Belford House – a nod to the National Gallery of Modern Art.
Further tributes to the capital can be found throughout, with bread tin accessories reflecting the old bakers and millers of Dean Village and even a tribute to Greyfriars Bobby in the colour palette of Greyfriars House.

The care home has an exclusive partnership with Balanced – Edinburgh’s premier physiotherapy provider – which specialises in functional rehabilitation and fall prevention to help older people become more independent.

A group of exceptionally qualified chefs lead a skilled catering team to create nutritious food plans using the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients, which are tailored to individual tastes, beliefs or dietary requirements.

From art classes to being pampered in the salon, or watching a film in the private cinema, the care home is a truly special place to live.
