Dandy Dinmont

-

With a history spanning more than half a century, Dandy Dinmont Park has been a destination for dog lovers as well as retirees for decades. Set in rolling countryside at Blackford, near Carlisle, the caravan park, which is open 365 days of the year, was once breeding kennels for a type of terrier from which the park takes its name.

While the kennels have long since gone, the park retains its affection for the breed, candidly sharing its knowledge of the dog’s history on its website.

Today, it is the park’s spectacular location that draws people. Located next to the Reivers cycle route and Hadrian’s Wall walk, it is a perfect spot for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Within a stone’s throw of Carlisle, the Northern Lakes and the Scottish Borders, this park is also located close to a golf course, salmon and trout fishing, horse riding, and historical houses and gardens.

This is a great base if you are looking for somewhere within striking distance of the Lake District, the Scottish Borders or Northumberland National Park. With caravan and lodge-style options, Dandy Dinmont Park is perfect for all your needs. It benefits from being on a flat site that has well-maintained grounds. The park offers secure parking, cycle storage and an emergency telephone service.

Local shops can be found nearby, along with entertainment and good travel links to Carlisle. A bus service runs every 30 minutes to the town centre.
