Wellington School
From their very first day, Wellington pupils immediately become part of a family dating back to 1836. Much has changed since then but emphasis is placed on the individual and the Wellington community continues to grow and strengthen both in terms of pupil experience and academic excellence. Fully co-educational, the school welcomes pupils from age 3 to 18, at any stage in their educational journey. Whether they start in their infancy or in S5, pupils are guided towards adulthood in the nurturing and inspiring environment that is such an important facet of the Wellington experience.
Wellington recognises that every child learns, works and performs to their own rhythm so the achievements of individuals are celebrated and a solid ethos encourages every child to realise their full potential. Gratifyingly, the system works. Earlier this year, Wellington School was honoured to receive an award bearing testament to their reputation for educational excellence - Education Advisers’ Scottish Independent School for Advanced Highers, 2017. The quality of education at Wellington truly sets the school apart, with even primary pupils consistently performing above the average in standardised tests.
The Early Years at Wellington School offer endless opportunities for children to explore the world around us and the youngest pupils receive lessons from specialist teachers in French, music and physical education. They adapt quickly to the longer school day, find a friend and guide in their class teacher. And wearing the school uniform? It is a badge of honour rather than a discomfort!
