SHINTY’S MAKING MUSIC

Shinty’s governing body, the Camanachd Association, has teamed up with the Royal Celtic Society and the Glasgow Celtic Society to launch a music competition. Solo artists are invited to compose an original piece of music to mark shinty’s absence from this summer’s sporting calendar and to look forward to the return of play. The deadline for entries is 5 August. Musician and former Scotland shinty captain Gary Innes will lead the selection panel. www.royalcelticsociety.scot
