Thomas Robinson Architects
Luxury is what we do. Designing and building highend one-off homes, often in beautiful Scottish locations, is our speciality. Scotland’s rich history of grand architecture gives us an exceptional starting point to create inspiring designs that stand alone yet reflect our great architectural tradition.
We create homes in both contemporary and traditional styles. Some reflect Scots Baronial, Arts and Crafts and New Classical designs; others follow contemporary forms with open-plan interiors and expanses of glass presiding over spectacular views. Whatever style we work in, our objectives are well-proportioned light-filled houses with balanced and flowing interiors which look exceptional and feel good to be in.
Scotland is an amazing country, it’s our job to leave an impressive imprint on it with our buildings.
We also have the privilege of conserving and renovating traditional homes and castles. Currently, we’re working on listed houses by two great Scottish architects, William Leiper and James Austin Laird, plus one by English architect Edwin Lutyens, who built here. Adding contemporary pool houses, family rooms, guest accommodation and advising on sustainable upgrades to these buildings is a fascinating part of our job. As conservation specialists we preserve their intricate beauty, while designing 21st-century additions using flair, imagination and sensitivity – often bringing in eco-friendly aspects from our Passivhaus design knowledge.
The common goal, whichever style of house we’re working on, is to go above and beyond to deliver our clients’ projects successfully.
