Discover the best of care

-

Providing the very best of care in Edinburgh, Care UK’s three modern, purpose-built homes offer a wide range of care services in lovely, welcoming surroundings. If you’ve not set foot in a care home before – or even if you have – Cairdean House in Colinton, Murrayside in Murrayfield and Lauder Lodge in Portobello may surprise you. Our fresh and modern homes boast luxury facilities including their own café, activity room, hair and beauty salon, and cinema – so whether you want to relax with a cup of coffee and slice of cake, get busy with a creative hobby, or enjoy a classic film with some popcorn; we have it all in Edinburgh.

Our promise to new residents

We know safety and cleanliness are at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts at this time, so we would like to reassure you that we continue to deliver not only the best of care, but also have the procedures, training and equipment needed to keep everyone as protected and safe as possible.

Our caring and passionate teams have gone above and beyond to make sure that residents’ lives remain not only as normal as they can, but have spent time both adapting some favourite activities, as well as developing new ones, to ensure everyone can enjoy fun and engaging things to do every day while maintaining social distance and keeping safe.

Home teams have embraced new technology, helping to keep residents in contact with loved ones, organising virtual entertainment, and even helping to make some new friends in the local community too.

Residents continue to enjoy freshly cooked meals from our chef-led team. We are also able to offer an enhanced in-room dining service with a wide range of tasty and nutritious meals and snacks for those who prefer, or need, additional distancing.

A comfortable and safe environment

Each bedroom is individually decorated and beautifully furnished. Each has an en-suite wet room, plus a flat screen TV, electronically adjustable bed, WiFi connection and 24- hour nurse call system. Some ground floor rooms even open on to our lovely secure gardens and have their own patio areas – perfect for some pot plants and a couple of chairs.

We’ve put as much thought into our gardens as we have the

interior of our Edinburgh homes. There are wheelchair-accessible pathways, a range of seating areas plus raised beds with sensory planting. If you’re a keen gardener, you’re welcome to ‘grow your own’. Alternatively, simply sit with a cup of tea and enjoy the fresh air and visiting birdlife.

Care that’s tailored for you

Our ethos at Cairdean House, Murrayside and Lauder Lodge is based on person-centred care – this means that every resident will receive care that’s completely tailored to them.

When you join us, we will take the time to get to know you so that we can develop a care and activity plan that’s tailored to your wellbeing and interests. Not only that, our chef-led team prepare every meal using fresh and delicious ingredients, and will meet with you to make sure that our menu reflects not only your dietary needs and preferences, but also that your favourite foods are included.

Staying active and having fun

Our lifestyle teams organise a huge variety of socially distanced group as well as one-to one activities, with plenty going on each day. Whether you have an existing hobby you’d like to continue, something you enjoyed in the past but haven’t had a chance to do in a while, or even an activity you’ve always wanted to try but never had the chance, we’ll do our best to make it happen.
