Archerfield House
Archerfield House in East Lothian is one of the most impressive and exclusive destinations you could imagine for a luxurious break, with two golf courses, an award-winning spa, direct access to the beautiful East Lothian beaches, and a wide range of accommodation options. We were fortunate enough to spend a night in one of the twelve Pavilion Suites – a spacious and sumptuous self-contained property for two, housed in an historic building adjacent to the main Mansion House.
The suite was beautifully appointed with lavish furnishings, luxurious fabrics and quality linens. No expense had been spared, with high-end fittings, plump sofas and an impressive cast iron slipper bath. The generous layout of the lounge with kitchen and dining area, bedroom and bathroom, was larger than many apartments.
Archerfield has invested much effort into their Covid-19 modifications, from contactless check-in to hygiene screens in their luxurious estate transport vehicles, yet the changes were unobtrusive – we felt entirely reassured, comfortable and safe during our stay.
Dinner in the Clubhouse was a highlight, with delicious food served in the palatial restaurant surroundings by a highly professional, down to earth team. A large outdoor terrace provided stunning views of the golf course and coast – an ideal spot to relax after a day on the Links.
Archerfield has achieved the perfect combination of unpretentious luxury, focusing on guest comfort, and we can’t wait to return. A family break to one of their lodges is being planned already, and an afternoon in the award-winning Fletcher’s Cottage Spa is a must.
