It’s advised to change a bait every 20 minutes, but with bait being expensive, I was wondering if I reeled in and the bait was still intact, is it worth using a scent spray to rejuvenate it? If so, which one would you recommend?

PF says:

No matter what bait you use while shore fishing, it soon becomes washed out and loses its pungent pulling power after a short time. I’ve tried several additives, sprays and potions and, to be honest, never found any of them gave me an advantage.

It’s always better to completely remove old bait and cast a fresh one out. This also offers the added incentive of keeping a good scent trail going that, hopefully, will draw the fish in.

If you’re in a position to collect your own bait, it’s a great way to save money in the long term, or perhaps try to locate a local bait collector in your area.
