BAIT

Turbot can be caught on a wide range of baits, but the species clearly has a penchant for fish. Live sandeels, especially launce, if available, are a deadly bait when used over sandbanks.

Frozen sandeels make a very effective alternative. Other excellent baits include fillets of mackerel or herring, and also squid.
