Sewerby Steps to Paull Lighthouse, East Yorks, 140 anglers This biggest fish match attracted a good attendance with first place going to Steve Major, of Beverley, with a 4.775kg thornback ray.

The anglers in second and third places also caught thornbacks. Mark Taylor, of Grimsby, bagged one of 2.875kg and Dan Jackson, of Cleethorpes, edged into third with a 2.550kg fish.

The top three were all fishing at Hilston.
