What type of lure do you suggest I should choose to get into surface lure fishing?

HG says: When I first really started getting into bass fishing, I reckon I’d have gone for a popper-style surface lure, but in time I began switching over to WTD (Walk The Dog) surface lures as I think they catch me more fish and are infinitely more versatile.

Allow me to take just the one surface lure and it’s going to be the IMA Salt Skimmer because it casts so well for its size and has caught me so many bass over the years.

Poppers are far more obvious on the surface, but I believe the WTD surface lures have the edge for bass fishing.
