ST SERFS SAC CHRISTMAS OPEN

Elie to St Andrews, Fife, 123 anglers Despite the previous three days of strong easterly winds and ice and snow forecast for the day, a good turnout of 123 anglers braved the elements to compete in the 21st running of this Christmas open.

Local angler Alan Combe managed to find a hotspot near St Andrews and cleaned up with heaviest cod at 8lb 13oz and a superb 15 fish overall bag of 45-13-0 to pocket a seasonal present of £1,200 for his efforts. Local anglers were to the fore, filling seven of the top 10 places.
