NORTH NORFOLK AIR AMBULANCE OPEN North Norfolk shingle, 200 anglers

The top three in this two-day charity match all finished with a zone win and a second for three points and had to be separated by fish points.

Winner of the £1,000 first prize was Cameron Turner, of Felixstowe, with 487 fish points. He topped Day 1 with first place in zone D at peg 129 thanks to 12 fish for 386 points (8-0-10). On Day 2, he was second in zone B from peg 49, where he caught seven fish for 101.

Second overall with 381 fish points was Steve Adams, of Shotley. He was second in zone A on Day 1 with 23 fish for 231pts, and won zone C on Day 2 with 11 fish for 150pts.

Third with 351 fish points was Rob Tuck, of Holland-on-Sea. He was second in zone C on Day 1 with 11 fish for 221pts and won zone A on Day 2 with 15 dabs for 130pts. Day 2 winner was Chris Spall, of Saxmundham, who caught 12 fish for 226pts from peg 130 in zone D.

SOUTHERN LEAGUE ROUND 2 & OPEN Solent Meads, Southbourn­e, Dorset, 88 anglers

Fishing was tough in some sections, but a ray feast in others. Winner Ian Dancey finished with 17lb 3oz, which included an undulate of 13lb 9oz.

Second went to Simon Adams, who caught an 11lb 7oz ray in his 12lb total, with Russell Preston taking third with 7-11-0. FOUNTAIN OPEN Hythe beaches, Kent, 118 anglers

Fifteen plaice for 585 points secured top spot for Colchester angler Craig Buy in this popular annual event.

The winner was in zone D, but second and third went to anglers pegged in zone B, with Gary Medlar, of Martham, and England internatio­nal Saul Page, of Deal, finishing with 581pts and 498pts respective­ly.

Heaviest fish was Steve Rathbone’s ray worth 380 points, caught in zone C.

■ Result: 1 Craig Buy, Clacton, 15 plaice, 585pts (11pts); 2 Gary Medlar, Martham, 581 (10); 3 Saul Page, Deal, 498 (9). Heaviest fish – Steve Rathbone, ray, 380pts (3). Zone – Luke Hutton, Deal, 320pts (3).

HORNSEA SAC ANYFISH ANYWHERE OPEN East Yorks, 150 fished

The top two chose to fish at Bridlingto­n and caught thornback rays, with a 3.500kg fish edging it for Matthew Garbutt.

Close behind in second was Andy Crowe, also at Bridlingto­n, with 3.400kg, while third went to Anthony Thompson, of Hornsea, with a 3.025kg cod caught at Grimston.

Steve Jacobs, of Hull, was fourth with a 2.725kg cod caught at Easington, while fifth went to Paul Scott, of Beverley, with a 2.525kg ray from Barmston.

JOCK GOUDIE INTERNATIO­NAL BEACH MASTERS Salthouse & Kelling, North Norfolk, 122 anglers

Two former internatio­nal anglers finished level on zone points, with the winner decided on fish points.

Finishing top was former England angler Bob Gascoigne with 350 points, compared to former Scotland angler Scott McCartney’s 296. Both anglers had finished first and fourth in their zones on the two days.

In third was former England junior Henry Randell, also with five points from second and third in his zones. Fourth place went to Steve Potts with a fifth and a zone win for six points, followed by Neil Cutler with seven points (fifth and second).

Zone A was fished at Salthouse, and zones B and C at Kelling. Bait was provided in the form of black lug and Bluey.

SOUTHERN LEAGUE RND 3 & OPEN Eastney, Hants, 60 anglers

Winner with a bag of dogfish and whiting for 4lb 11oz was Ben Arnold, of Worthing, on peg 65 in zone D.

Second was Darren Newland, of Lake, with 4-0-0 from peg 55 in the same zone, followed by Dean Whitcher, of Portsmouth, who won zone B at peg 29 with a 3lb 9oz spotted ray, the heaviest fish of the match. Other zone winners were Anton James in zone C with 3-2-0, and Mike Groves in zone A with 1-1-0.
