How to set up with a Delta Eel.

THE Eddystone Delta Eel is a hugely popular sandeel imitation, which features a very soft tail to create a realistic and attractive action in the water. it is popular with boat anglers fishing for mid-water predators such as pollack, coalfish and bass. Remember to match the weight of the sinker (2-20g) to the fishing conditions. Popular with boat match anglers, this robust plastic eel comes in a wide range of colours and sizes (50mm, 65mm, 90mm and 180mm), some with a fixed leadhead. Match the hook size to the eel being used, such as 2/0 for 90mm and 2 for 65mm. For more information on Eddystone Eels, visit: www.EddystoneEel.co.uk

STEP BY STEP 1 Thread the 0.18mm fluorocarbon leader into the head end of the eel out through the hole on the underside. 2 Using a grinner knot, tie on a size 2 O’Shaughnessy hook and pull the line back into the eel’s body. 3 The hook’s eye and shank should be inside the eel, leaving only the bend and hook point showing. 4 The leader should be 60-90cm long and tied to a swivel, which joins to the mainline that carries a bead and the lead weight of your choice.
