typhoon’s neW 5mm Wetsuits
Three new Typhoon 5mm wetsuits are available to suit all budgets.
The flagship Kona 5mm in a choice of OFZ (overhead front zip) and Back Entry suit leads the way. Each version costs £239.95.
The OFZ entry system gives complete flexibility in the back panel, allowing the wearer to minimise restriction while maximising performance. The Back Entry version, meanwhile, is ideal for kayakers allowing complete freedom of arm movement.
A ‘liquid seal seam’ system combines with a brushed fleece thermal liner at the back of the body to give maximum protection against the elements, while a GlideSkin neck seal and an ergonomic design ensure maximum comfort.
The Vortex 5mm also comes in both OFZ and Back Entry systems. It features many of the same features as the Kona in an all-purpose, high performance wetsuit. It costs £159.95.
For entry-level enthusiasts, the Storm 5mm Back Entry Wetsuit, costing £129.95, has a glued blind stitch construction, GlideSkin neck seal and double knee pads.
Typhoon’s new wetsuits are available in a full range of sizes, and in both men’s and women’s fits.

Featuring lightweight, compact size and durability, the SM-3 provides 360° visibility for approximately two miles (3.22km) and is ideal as a Crew Overboard (COB) marker light.
When thrown in the water, the light activates and floats upright, strobing for over 24 hours at -1°C (30°F) on two user-replaceable AA L91 Lithium batteries. It costs around £140, weighs 0.90lb (406g) including batteries and bracket, and is 253 mm long with a 56 mm diameter.
Housed in a UV-resistant polycarbonate case, the SM-3 is supplied with a mounting bracket to keep it secure in the roughest of conditions, but easily accessible in an emergency.
