Check out the new range of Tronixpro Blaze CX rods.

Tronixpro has recently launched a new family of three-piece Continental rods to add to its impressive portfolio. The Blaze CX range feature three versions in two different lengths with three separate casting ratings.

The full range (handily labelled CXI, CXII and CXIII) of Blaze blanks are built using Japanese 30T carbon from Mitsubishi and all feature Fuji screw-winch reel seats, along with Fuji framed KWAG rings throughout, and are finished impeccably.

Whether you’re at the top of your game on the match circuit, prefer targeting species with delicate tactics, or you simply want to present baits at longer distances without seeing your baits explode mid-flight – with a selection of ratings to choose from, there’s basically a rod to suit any situation.

The Blaze CX rods are all designed to be used with fixed-spool reels, come with padded rod bags, and are priced at £280.99 for the 4.2m rod and £285.99 for the 4.5m version.

The Blaze CXI uniquely features sections that are unequal in length. Basically, a shorter butt generates a far more efficient transfer of power as well as delivering a much easier cast. With a shorter butt and a longer mid-section, the cast is significantly slowed down.

Rated at 100g-225g, this model is easily suited to clean venues during calmer conditions. Light it may be, but it will handle species such as bass, mullet and bream, as well as rays and smoothhounds.

Moving on to the CXII model, this is rated at 110g-200g and boasts a super-sensitive hybrid tip designed to register tiny nibbles and knocks from extremely long range.

This rod will certainly catch the eye of match anglers because of its supreme casting capabilities. It’s probably best used in conjunction with a 150g lead weight to punch three baits way out into a shallow, clean beach, with flatfish and whiting being the primary target species.

The CX stable is rounded off with the CXIII blank. This is the rod you need to turn to when conditions and venues demand a lot more grunt with slightly more power - where larger species are likely to be encountered.

A tubular tip is used to bring extra power to the table, and while it’s not as sensitive as a hybrid tip, it allows heavier weights and larger baits to be cast with ease. Venues that produce species such as bull huss, smoothhounds, cod and all types of rays are certainly suited to this model. Even better if the tides are strong during a pounding surf.
