BOOKING WITH A GUIDE
As I mentioned earlier, my shore fishing trips to Norway are booked with Guided Fishing Norway, and every single visit has been an incredibly enjoyable experience.
From the very first moment I walk into the airport, to eventually arriving at their base, it’s all completely hassle-free. The fact that GFN offers a whole shore fishing package, including tackle, bait, clothing, food, travel, accommodation and airport pick-up and drop-off, means that all I need to focus on is the fishing.
I don’t wake up in the morning scratching my head wondering where I’m going fishing; it’s all planned for me. Not only that, some of these marks require incredibly versatile tactics to be implemented. The guides not only take me to some of the most productive marks available, at the correct time and state of tide, they’re also teaching me a new style of fishing too. This is invaluable information that I’ve even adopted into my own fishing at some UK venues. Essentially, all of the kit they offer is designed for the fishing involved.
Neither am I worrying about bait because it’s all taken care of for me. The separate tackle and drying room are other gems at GFN. After each trip has ended, I know the kit and my clothing will be ready to go the following morning.
Some clients prefer to drag along their own rods and reels, and I guess it’s all down to each angler’s preference. But it’s the fact that I really want to make the most of not only the fishing, but my downtime and socialising too. If I’m cooking, preparing tackle and driving all over the place, it’s certainly going to wear me down sooner rather than later.
