THE NICARAGUAN Tourism Board (INTUR) has a new marketing campaign fronted by the slogan, “I like you just as you are”.

Designed to encourage tourists to get to know the country’s ‘authentic side’, the strategy is in response to travellers wanting to know how locals live, what they eat, their daily activities and the places they visit.

It focuses on three central facets: culture, natural scenery and the country’s people, incorporat­ing the promotion of beaches, adventure- ecoand community-tourism, gastronomy, culture and nature, as well as business travel, health and wellness, cruises and sailing holidays.

The campaign also features videos, posters, billboards and other promotiona­l collateral like t-shirts, and calendars. Press trips are also planned. visitnicar­agua.us
