Hurtigruten reaches for sky
HURTIGRUTEN is celebrating 125 years of sailing under the Northern Lights with its largest winter brochure to date.
The 2018/19 offering includes a fleet of 12 ships and covers 34 ports along the Norwegian coastline. A range of classic voyages are available, from the 12-day full round trip, to the eight-day Arctic Wonders voyage, and a seven-day Voyage North or six-day Voyage South.
Adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts have the chance to customise their winter wonderland experience by choosing an array of excursions in Norway, including dog sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and mountain hiking.
Hurtigruten are the only company making a ‘Northern Lights Promise’: that all guests who embark on the 12-day Classic Round Voyage or Astronomy Voyage will get a free six- or seven-day voyage if Aurora Borealis fails to make an appearance during their journey. The promise is valid for departures from October 1 2018 until the end of March 2019.
More handpicked expedition teams have been added to ten ships on the fleet for 2018/19 sailings. Made up of knowledgeable modern-day explorers, they are intended to enhance guest experiences by offering insights about local history, geology, biology, and activities on board.
The cruise line has also added departure dates to its flight-inclusive Classic Round Voyage, with charter flights departing from nine regional airports to Bergen throughout the winter. hurtigruten.co.uk
