Great Rail Journeys takes to the water with its inaugural river cruise programme

GREAT Rail Journeys is branching into the river cruise market after chartering three vessels which will have their inaugural departures in April 2019.

Great Rail Journeys’ pitches its river cruise product as “five-star state of the art, modern luxury, offering some of the largest and most generous cabins on Europe’s waterways at some of the most competitive prices in the UK market.”

GRJ cruises will offer one-way itineraries on all rivers so that customers won’t have to see the same section of the river twice.

Agents booking with GRJ can offer their clients flexible ways to transfer to their cruise – by flight or escorted rail, as part of a tour and cruise itinerary, or as an add-on to an existing Great Rail Journeys tour.

Trade will also be able to select the exact cabin for their customers at the time of booking via the GRJ agent portal.

Charter itineraries include tours along the Rhine, Danube and the Waterways of Belgium and Holland.

Agents who book the product until May 31 2018 will be entered into a draw to win a cabin for two on one of the new charters.
