When the grouse season started, I was horrified to see harmful and inaccurate descriptions on the website of a major so-called animal rights charity. I won’t name it, as I don’t want to give it even negative publicity.
But it states that gamekeepers use snares and traps to catch foxes and corvids, in which it says “many non-target and protected species” get caught. It describes this as “the indiscriminate killing of animals to facilitate the killing of other animals for sport”.
My understanding is that modern tunnel traps and Fenn devices do not kill the animals caught in them. Yet this wellknown organisation is peddling lies to try to increase donations. We are lucky to have people such as Sir Ian Botham on our side, who is not afraid to put his head above
