DC servo motors are used for improved accuracy and higher torque. We found these to be quite noisy, emitting a high-pitched whine when fast slewing. The RA worm gear has a diameter of 142.9mm and contains 360 teeth. It’s driven by a dualsupported, high-precision brass worm offering a pointing accuracy of 30 arcseconds or better.
