BABIES ‘Little Rio is a cheeky and content baby’

Baby’s name: Scoble. Date and place of birth: October 19 at 4.20pm at the University Hospital of Wales. Weight: 6lb 12oz. Parents: Mum Sarah Thomas, 28, and dad Kieran Scoble, 25, a floor layer, from Ely. Mum’s story: This is my third baby, this one was quite easy because I knew what to expect.

“I had an elective C-section, because my first two were born that way. The first one was an emergency and the second one was elective too.

“I was quite relaxed during the pregnancy, but a caesarean is still a big operation so that was a bit worrying.

“I was expecting to be in hospital for about two days, but I was out and home within 24 hours. Rio Kieran Craig

“The only real craving I had was for ice – nothing too interesting.

“I did suffer from morning sickness for the first few months, but then my doctor gave me tablets which helped with it.

“Rio has been growing fast, he’s already over a stone in weight now and he’s only four and a half months.

“He’s still on formula milk at the moment, but I’m going to try him on food from about five months.

“He only wakes up about once every night, which isn’t too bad. For the first few weeks he was waking up more but that’s normal.

“One of my kids is coming up to seven and the other one is nearly six.

“They were really excited when Rio came along, they wanted to be involved in everything but it’s handy having some extra pairs of hands.

“Rio is cheeky but he’s so content. He’s just a happy baby.

“Because I’m a bit older now it’s a lot easier being a mum, it’s the same process. Obviously every baby is different but the routines are the same really.

“We didn’t come up with a name for him until he was born. His dad chose it for him, it just popped into his head. It does suit him though.

“He’s really into soft toys and he loves the feel of foil, and he loves lots of different noises too. He’s a little screamer too, just like a little girl.

“His dad is into rugby so maybe he’ll end up being a rugby player.”
