Great expectations for Wales star Ledley

-

WAYNE Hennessey has revealed how room-mate Joe Ledley is hoping his plans for Dublin don’t get disrupted by a dash to the hospital as he awaits the birth of his third child.

Ledley and his wife Ruby are to have their third little one, with the due date just a few days after Friday’s World Cup qualifying clash with Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.

It comes after the pair arranged their wedding day last summer just 24 hours after the Euro 2016 final which Wales came within a whisker of making.

And Palace pal Hennessey said: “He doesn’t plan ahead does he? It’s due two or three days after the game, so he’s hoping he doesn’t get the call until the day after.

“He’s not been nervous, he’s been really good, he’s just keeping his phone on loud or having one of the members of staff to take his phone if he’s out on the training field.

“But he’s been calm; it’s their third so he’s used to it now. We all hope it arrives fit, healthy...and a few days after the game!”

Both the Euro heroes are expected to start in tomorrow’s clash against the group leaders, Hennessey adding: “It’s been a long time since we all met up, but it’s good to be back together and this is a big game for us. It’s difficult opposition, but we know all of their players and their style of play.

“It will probably be a hostile atmosphere for us, but we’ll grow from that. We have our game plan.”
