WE ALL need a little bit of calm from time to time, and what better way to get there than a bit of colouring in?

It might sound trite, but this little app is a beauty, and offers mindful tranquility if meditation is not for you.

The Lake Colouring Books app’s title pretty much describes waht it is, but the pictures you colour in are created by some of the most celebrated illustrators on Instagram (I know, apparently showing off drawings as well as photographs is a thing on Instagram…).

There is lots of free content to get you started, but you can buy full colouring books (with 12 illustrations to work on), or subscribe to access the lot.

One other sense of wellbeing you might derive from this app, aside from the obvious bit of art therapy, is the fact that you’d be offering direct financial support to the artists that create the illustrations every time you spend any money.

I feel calmer already.
