Woman given CBO for begging
A WOMAN who was reported to the police more than 90 times in the last year has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) – and banned from entering a retirement home.
Michelle Denise Rosser, 37, of Bedlinog, has been banned from approaching any property or person for the purpose of begging.
She has also been stopped from entering the Craig y Hendre complex.
Craig y Hendre is a retirement housing scheme that aims to provide “convenient and comfortable living” for retired residents.
PC Dave McCutcheon, of South Wales Police, said: “We have tried to engage with Ms Rosser on a number of occasions and have issued her with notices to let her know that her behaviour is not acceptable and is causing concern to members of the community.
“Unfortunately she has failed to listen to these warnings and we have had to take the step with our partners to impose a CBO.
“We will continue to work with all agencies to offer Ms Rosser support but hope that this order demonstrates to the community that when people are causing a nuisance we will take appropriate action against them.”
After the news was posted on the South Wales Police Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taff Facebook page, people accused Rosser of a number of offences in the comment box.
But a spokeswoman for South Wales Police confirmed Rosser was given a CBO for antisocial behaviour and begging.
