HEARTBREAK FOR FAMILY AFTER BIKE CRASH DEATH
TRIBUTES ARE PAID TO ‘MUCH-LOVED’ 23-YEAR-OLD WHO DIED AFTER MOTORCYCLE AND CAR COLLIDED
THE family of a 23-year-old man who died in a road accident have said they are heartbroken about his death.
Andrew Lewis, from Aberfan, died on Saturday.
He was a passenger on a motorbike on a road known as the new Aberfan bypass when there was a collision with a red Ford C-max car.
The driver of the red BMW F650 motorbike, a 26-year-old man, is still being treated at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with what police have described as serious injuries.
The female driver and only occupant of the Ford C-Max was uninjured.
Mr Lewis’ family have released a tribute saying: “Andrew was a much-loved son, brother, father and uncle.
“He was loved by everyone that knew him and the family are in total shock and totally heartbroken following the tragic death of Andrew”.
The road was closed for four hours while forensic collision investigation work was carried out and South Wales Police have thanked people for their patience and understanding.
Roads Policing officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information which could assist the investigation, or who may have witnessed the driving of either vehicle prior to the collision, to telephone them on 101 quoting occurrence 1700152579.
