HEARTBREAK FOR FAMILY AFTER BIKE CRASH DEATH

TRIBUTES ARE PAID TO ‘MUCH-LOVED’ 23-YEAR-OLD WHO DIED AFTER MOTORCYCLE AND CAR COLLIDED

THE family of a 23-year-old man who died in a road accident have said they are heartbroke­n about his death.

Andrew Lewis, from Aberfan, died on Saturday.

He was a passenger on a motorbike on a road known as the new Aberfan bypass when there was a collision with a red Ford C-max car.

The driver of the red BMW F650 motorbike, a 26-year-old man, is still being treated at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with what police have described as serious injuries.

The female driver and only occupant of the Ford C-Max was uninjured.

Mr Lewis’ family have released a tribute saying: “Andrew was a much-loved son, brother, father and uncle.

“He was loved by everyone that knew him and the family are in total shock and totally heartbroke­n following the tragic death of Andrew”.

The road was closed for four hours while forensic collision investigat­ion work was carried out and South Wales Police have thanked people for their patience and understand­ing.

Roads Policing officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with informatio­n which could assist the investigat­ion, or who may have witnessed the driving of either vehicle prior to the collision, to telephone them on 101 quoting occurrence 1700152579.
