BOUQUET OF THE WEEK Adrian goes extra mile for Tenovus

-

A VOLUNTEER who “always goes above and beyond” has been rewarded with an Echo Bouquet of the Week.

Over the last two years stay at home dad Adrian Judd, 42, has used his free time to help out at Tenovus Cancer Care, working as a handyman and also lending a hand in the charity’s warehouse.

“I’ve never been given a bouquet before – it is so unexpected,” said Adrian from Lisvane, Cardiff.

“I do lots of things but mainly I look after the office as a Love Our Office assistant, putting up pictures and things – being a handyman really – and I also help out in the warehouse.

He said he started because he had always wanted to help out a charity.

“My wife works full time and I look after the kids. I was looking for something to do where I could be an adult,” Adrian said.

“They wanted someone to help out and It just so happened that I’m pretty good at DIY. I have always wanted to help a charity, It helped that it is so close – I could get there at the drop of a hat.”

Adrian said he is going to have to take a break from helping out for a while because his wife Hannah is pregnant with their third child but he hopes to return in the future.

Adrian was nominated for the bouquet by Katie Taylor, volunteer manager at Tenovus Cancer Care, who wanted to thank him for all work he has done.

“Adrian volunteers as a Love Our Office assistant in our Cardiff office and as an eBay assistant in our warehouse and on a number of occasions has used his own materials to reduce costs,” Katie said.

“While volunteering at the warehouse, Adrian has been a great asset, using his creative nature and versatility to turn his hand to whatever task has needed doing.

“Nothing is too much trouble and he always goes above and beyond what’s asked of him.”
