YOURS Awards for the best in construction industry
LOCAL building firms and residents have been recognised at the recent LABC Regional Building Excellence Awards.
Construction work across Caerphilly county is subject to the Building Regulation Technical Standards which are managed by the council’s building control team.
The team works with residents and building firms to ensure standards are met and those who are recognised as delivering best practice and exemplary work are nominated at the annual LABC Awards.
Chris Jones of Taylor Wimpey was given the Best Residential Site Manager award during the ceremony recently hosted in the Vale and will now feature in the all-Wales final ceremony in London later this year.
Under the Best Extension or Alteration and Best Affordable New Housing Scheme categories, Mr and Mrs Joyce of 1 Lwyncelyn Cottages and P&P Building and Roofing Contractors Ltd were highly commended.
Interim head of planning Tim Stephens said: “The building control team cover all areas of construction as well as many aspects of health and safety within buildings as well as energy consumption and accessibility. The dedicated team strive to ensure that all buildings across the county are safe, dry, warm and healthy environments for residents.”
He added: “We feel it is vitally important to work with residents and building firms to support them in undertaking building work that is completed to the highest quality standards. I would like to extend my congratulations to all of those nominated and awarded.”
