YOUR PETS French bulldog Bruno likes to use shoes for pillows

-

Pet’s name: Bruno. Age: 18 months. Breed: French bulldog. Owners: Lewis Andrews, 28, a police officer, and Sophie Lock, 26, a teaching assistant, from Llanrumney, Cardiff. Owners’ story: “Bruno was a puppy when we first had him.

“He didn’t have to have much training really, but he does have selective hearing sometimes, I think.

“He didn’t really chew much, we were quite lucky. All he would do is maybe dig some holes in the garden or try and eat the flowers.

“But it was mainly things outside the house, which was good.

“He eats a lot of dog food, but sometimes if we have any leftovers from a Sunday dinner he might have a lamb bone and eat the meat off that. But that’s a treat for him. It keeps him quiet for a few hours.

“At the moment he loves to play with a newspaper toy which is called the Daily Dog.

“Bruno doesn’t really bark at anything, although he will sometimes at the front door.

“But overall is he very friendly with people and other dogs.

“We don’t really let him upstairs, so if I’m getting changed I will close the bedroom door.

“If I do that he sometimes grabs one of my trainers from somewhere, takes it onto the sofa and uses it as a pillow.

“I thinks it’s a comfort thing, like a pacifier.

“Bruno is our first dog. Me and my girlfriend Sophie had been talking about getting one for a while, we’ve lived together for six years.

“Now we both enjoy taking him for walks. It gets you out of the house and you speak to the neighbours who have dogs too.

“We mainly take him on walks out of the way somewhere, away from the roads so we can let him off his lead and give him a good run.

“Bruno is like part of the family now. It’s like having a child I guess.

“You make sure he’s looked after with the food and the grooming and his health.”
