Tribute to father who died in crash

THE “heartbroke­n” family of a father of two killed in a car crash on Friday morning have spoken of their loss.

Stephen John Woodland, 25, from Tonyrefail, died after his vehicle collided with another car at about 11.35am on Friday in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

South Wales Police are investigat­ing the fatal crash which also left a mum and her daughter in hospital.

A statement released by Mr Woodland’s family said: “The whole family are heartbroke­n coming to terms with the tragic accident that has taken Stephen, loving dad of Teegan and Teejay, partner to Jessey.

“Son of Karen and Adrian, brother to Natalie and James. Stepson to Chris and grandson to Stuart and Jen.

“The family’s thoughts are also with the other family involved.”

South Wales Police said Mr Woodland was driving a black Ford Fiesta when he collided with a black Renault Kadjar on the B4278 Penrhiwfer Road, between Penrhiwfer and Tonyrefail.

The 43-year-old female driver of the Renault and her three-year-old daughter were taken to hospital with injuries which were not believed to be serious.

South Wales Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any informatio­n to telephone the Eastern Roads Policing Unit, via 101 quoting reference number 1700211232.
