BABIES Late arrival Morgan is a happy baby

-

Baby’s name: Morgan Anthony John Aston Oswell Date and place of birth: January 13 at 3.54am at the University Hospital of Wales. Weight: 7lb 3oz Mum: Selina Claire 29, a care worker, Penylan, Cardiff. Mum’s story: “I did suffer from morning sickness, and it was pretty bad at first but then it all calmed down.

“I didn’t really have any strange cravings as I did Slimming World through the pregnancy so I ate healthy and I weigh the lightest I ever have.

“I was quite anxious about the birth, as my first birth was pretty hard. But this birth was easy because he was so small. He weighed 7lb 3oz and my Aston, from first was 8lb 13oz, so I only had a tiny bit of gas and air.

“I knew I was having a boy as we found out at 12 weeks with a private scan.

“I was convinced that I was having a girl, so when found out I was having a boy it was a bit disappointing as we already have a boy. But as long as he was healthy then that was the main thing.

“It wasn’t really easy to agree on his name, but it’s not a family name and we picked it to match with his brother.

“His brother is Mason so they rhyme and sound a bit similar.

“Morgan was born eight days late and he had be induced as the doctors said he was too small.

“The labour was about seven hours long and we stayed in hospital for another a day as I had strep B [an infection] in pregnancy so the doctors had to monitor me.

“I felt overwhelmed bringing him home, it was like it’s finally happened and he’s here. He sleeps very well and he has done from birth. He’s very happy baby.

“At first looked he looked like his dad, but now everyone says he looks more like me. He also looks like his older brother too.

“It feels great having him in my life. His older brother loves him and all the family adore him. Life’s changed loads as I don’t like leaving him. I feel like a better mum this time around because as I’ve got older I’ve become more patient.”
