Pumpkin the cat is a naughty knicker nicker

A family’s cat keeps bringing home knickers she’s stolen from neighbours

A CAT owner has had to send letters of apology to her neighbours because her cat keeps stealing their underwear.

Pumpkin, a three-and-a-half year old cat, has had a penchant for bringing neighbours’ laundry home since she was one, but has upped the ante in the past two months, delivering a new item every day.

Owner Zoe Davies, 44, from Fairwater, Cardiff, said: “I’ve had 10-shirts, socks, gardening gloves, tea towels, leggings, men’s pants.

“This week alone I’ve had 10 pairs of knickers (all the same size and make), two bras and two pairs of tights. My children and friends think that the whole thing is hilarious, but I really don’t know what to do.

“I thought about putting an honesty box outside, but I can’t put underwear outside my house.”

The family always find the clothes in a morning. They also hear Pumpkin crying after she’s brought something new home.

When asked what her favourite thing Pumpkin has brought home was, Ms Davies said: “One week she brought home a pair of knickers, then a few days later brought me the matching bra – I thought that was quite impressive”.

In an attempt to return the various pieces of clothing, Ms Davies has posted letters through her neighbours’ doors explaining what’s going on. She thinks they must be coming from the same house, as they are all the same size and make. No-one has yet claimed the items. Because none of the items that Pumpkin returns ever have pegs on, Ms Davies thinks it’s unlikely that she’s taking them from washing lines, instead, Ms Davies thinks that she’s getting into houses either through cat-flaps or windows that have been left open due to the hot weather.

Think I’d rather have knickers than some of the things they bring home, as long as they’re clean ones.

Thankfully all clean!

Zoe Davies

My cat does it with socks. I find stashes under the bed.

Sarah Williams-Baker

Let’s be grateful my two are as boring as they are!

Angharad Eynon

Ha ha my cat does this too, I daren’t leave any underwear lying around with the door open as she takes them outside and drops

them everywhere. God knows what the postman thinks when he sees underwear all over my garden.

Clare Wells

Haha, my cat does this too - I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve had to explain the situation to the police! They do find it hard to believe that a cat could order used ladies underwear off the Internet as well mind.

Huw Solo

One of our cats used to drag next door’s washing off the line by

swinging on it.

Maddie O’Brien

My parent’s cat, Alfie, used to have a bit of a thing for black lace,

he used to steal them in his younger days and then sit kneading them chirping. Swear he was a perv.

Helen Baker

I hope they are clean

Melvyn Owen

Is that the excuse the prowling husband came up with? I’ve blamed food missing on a cat but stealing nickers?

Kevin Fryatt

Weird
