Details of waterfront apartments revealed

-

DETAILS have been announced for a new development in Cardiff Bay which will see 85 flats being built on the waterfront.

Work has already begun on the Schooner Way development in Atlantic Wharf where a number of one and twobedroom apartments will go on the market.

As part of the development by construction firm Morganstone in partnership with Cardiff Community Housing Association, there will also be 32 houses.

Planning for the development was obtained in early 2016. The site, which is located on the dockside overlooking Bute East Dock, will feature a nine-storey apartment block made of glass, metal and brick.

An apartment will set you back about £120,000 for a one-bedroom property and in the region of £185,000 for twobedrooms.

A spokesman from MGY Estate Agents, which is looking after the development, said: “Residents of some of the groundfloor properties will enjoy direct access to their private and slightly elevated terraces from the pedestrianised waterfront boardwalk.

“Top floor residents may take in the sea air and views from some of the most generously proportioned terraces in the city.”

They added: “All of the amenities of the bustling city centre, including the Mermaid Quay leisure quarter, will be easily accessed via Cardiff’s newly-constructed Smart bridge and a select number of apartments will also benefit from surface level parking.”

Cardiff Bay will be seeing a number of new developments sprouting up in the near future with 180 home development to be built on the site of the former The Wharf pub, which was knocked down last year.

The development is for flats in buildings up to seven storeys, and some townhouses.
