YOUR PETS ‘I changed my career for our cheeky dog Bolt’

-

Pet’s name: Bolt. Breed: Springer Spaniel cross with German Pointer. Age: Seven. Owner: Emma Davey, 33, a cash supervisor, from Pentwyn, Cardiff. Owner’s story: “We’ve had Bolt since he was a puppy.

“I wasn’t looking for a dog but my friend brought him down after having a litter of puppies and then my kids wouldn’t let him go, so now he’s part of the family.

“He puppy.

“He suffers from separation anxiety too so I can’t really go anywhere was quite a naughty and leave him on his own.

“I even had to change my career for him.

“I was a teaching assistant so I worked in the day, and then my dad would look after him but he became ill.

“So I was thinking of re-homing him but in the days beforehand we were all just crying and upset so we had to keep him. “So now I just do evening work. “He’s quite a cheeky dog, he’s got to get used to you at first but once he’s used to you he’s absolutely fine.

“But he is wary of new people at first.

“Bolt will only eat food from Aldi.

“You could buy him Pedigree food and treats but he won’t touch it, it has to be from Aldi. At least it’s not expensive!

“Bolt is my baby. If one of us gets up from the dinner table he’ll quickly jump up and take your seat.

“He likes to be part of everything and watch things.

“Whenever I bring him home some treats, he’ll be sitting in the window looking through the curtains waiting for me.

“He’ll go through my bag, take the bag of treats and sit in his bed eating them for up to an hour sometimes.”
