Anger over ed sheeran ticket mix-up

-

ED SHEERAN has already sold out three of his four Cardiff dates for next year’s tour.

But some fans have been left angry after a website mix-up meant they bought standing tickets for children who aren’t allowed to stand.

There was confusion around the age restrictions of youngsters who could stand on the pitch to see the singer perform – with various websites seemingly giving conflicting information.

And the mix-up has left some fans annoyed, with some even resorting to selling their tickets.

The singer’s website stated that for standing tickets no under-14s were allowed but 15 and 16-year-olds could stand on the pitch if they were accompanied by an adult.

But the link from the Shape of You singer’s website that took customers to Ticketmaster stated that only people who are 16 and over can watch the show standing on the pitch.

And according to concert venue the Principality Stadium, under-16s are not allowed standing tickets at the gig.

The situation has led to parents of fans being left angry and annoyed.

Alison Horne, 36, from Cardiff, booked four tickets at £82.50 each for herself, her husband, and two children.

She wrote on Facebook: “We booked the tickets on Saturday but before booking that we checked the Ed Sheeran website – it clearly states Cardiff and the age restrictions.

“I’ve got a 15-year-old now who’s no longer able to stand.”

The mum, who lives in the St Fagans, said: “It says on there standing no under-14s and 15 and 16-year-olds to be accompanied by someone18-plus, seated to be accompanied by an 18-yearold.

“Ticketmaster kept crashing, we had six devices on the go and obviously there was no real time to check on their terms and conditions.

“To be fair I didn’t check [Ticketmaster’s terms and conditions] at the time because I’d been checking his website and I’d seen the note and I thought ‘Great they can stand.’

“I know a lot of people – my children’s friends – they’ve all booked standing so everyone’s in the same boat now.”

Alison added: “I’m just angry at the whole thing.

“I go to concerts all the time – I always look at conditions, I just went off his actual website, which is there in black and white saying the ages.”

A spokesman for the Principality Stadium confirmed that nobody under the age of 16 would be able to stand on the pitch.
