A Prince among men at Ayr

-

ZABEEL PRINCE can continue on the upgrade in the feature Parkdean Resorts Glasgow Fair Handicap at Ayr.

The lightly-raced fouryear-old has only been seen in action twice, most recently winning a maiden in striking fashion at Nottingham, on his first start since being gelded.

Always moving with some panache, there was never any doubt about the result and he came a ready three lengths clear of favourite Cape To Cuba, who had run well the time before at Doncaster behind a stablemate of the selection.

Hailing from the in-form yard of Roger Varian, the son of Lope De Vega has been allotted a mark of 86 for his handicap debut and it will be disappointing if he is not up to winning off that.

French Flyer should be very hard to beat in the Western House Novice Auction Stakes.

Michael Dods’ youngster made a really taking debut when winning over six furlongs here last month and is bred to get a good deal further, so the step up to seven furlongs comes as no surprise.

He looked for all the world like that experience would bring him on a good bit, too.

Super Julius is on a bit of a roll and can bring up his hat-trick in the Sky Bet Windsor Sprint Series Handicap at the Thameside venue.

The application of cheekpieces appears to have been a masterstroke on the part of Eve Johnson Houghton, with the headgear bringing about an immediate improvement as the Bated Breath gelding scored at Wolverhampton at the end of June.

Turned out again just a week later, Super Julius shrugged off a 6lb penalty to win a tight little event at Brighton with the minimum of fuss.

Samarmadi is one to watch as he has his first foray into handicap company at Wolverhampton.

Hugo Palmer’s charge lines up in the FCL Global Forwarding Handicap after making a successful start to his career with a maiden win on the Doncaster turf at the start of this month.

Samarmadi overcame his evident experience to come home a half-length winner of what appeared to be a fair event, and a mark of 75 looks a reasonable starting point.

Major Valentine is in excellent heart at present and should be followed in the Bet totequadpot At betfred.com Handicap at Ffos Las.

He already has four wins under his belt this year and after being ridden by apprentice Ben Robinson in his last six starts, Tom Marquand is an eyecatching booking this time around.
