More tea Sophie? Pupil takes on cuppa challenge

-

A CARDIFF sixth former will attempt to drink 36 cups of tea in 36 hours at 36 shops and cafes as part of a school’s charity fundraiser.

Sophie Lewis’ tea drinking marathon is part of the biggest ever charity fundraiser at the Bishop of Llandaff Church in Wales High School.

Staff and pupils are joining forces in a 36-hour charity event starting today. Other events include a nonstop live broadcast from the school radio station and a staff vs students penalty shootout.

The three main charities they are raising money for are Mind, Stonewall Cymru and ERIC, the Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity.

Event organiser, year 13 student Seb Cheer, 17, said: “I enjoy a good challenge. I’ve loved my seven years in this school, and this will hopefully be a great way to go out with a bang.”

Luckily his friend Sophie, 16, loves a cuppa so he is certain she will be up for the challenge too.

Assistant head teacher Reverend Gareth Rayner-Williams said:“What better way to deepen our lives than to spend 36 hours together focusing on raising money for charitable causes and having fun along the way?”

The event begins at 8am today and end at 8pm tomorrow.
