Ed Sheeran cancels 10,000 tour tickets

-

ED SHEERAN has cancelled up to 10,000 tickets for his upcoming shows as he hits back at touts.

The tickets are those being resold by touts and unauthorised agents and thousands of tickets have now been returned to official market places for fans to buy at face value.

The announcement was made on the star’s website just days after tickets for his UK tour, which includes four dates in Cardiff, went on sale.

Fans were also urged not to buy tickets from unauthorised sites.

On Sheeran’s website, a statement says: “Ed’s promotors alongside the National Trading Standards Cyber Crime team have identified many multiple purchases which are in contravention of the terms and conditions for the sale of the Ed Sheeran tickets.

“As a result up to 10,000 tickets for his UK tour have now been cancelled and are being returned back into the market place for individual fans to purchase at face value.

“If you are concerned that you may have been defrauded by any of the secondary ticketing companies then please consult the FanFair Alliance website, where you can find a step-by-step guide on how to seek a refund.

“Please DO NOT buy from from unauthorised sites such as viagogo.com, edsheerantickets2018.com and ticketselection.com, as these companies are reselling unauthorised tickets that will not permit admission to Ed’s concerts.”

The promoter warned: “On this tour, any tickets that are resold will not be valid unless they are bought and sold through Ed’s official resale partner, Twickets, which allows fan to fan sales at face value and booking fee only – this means no profit to touts and no one getting ripped off.”

The official ticket vendors are Seetickets.com, Ticketmaster.co.uk, Alttickets. com, AXS.com, Gigantic.com, Myticket. co.uk, Eventim.co.uk, Ticketline.co.uk, Tickets.amazon.co.uk and Ticketfactory. com

Any tickets resold will not be valid unless resold through Ed’s official resale partner Twickets.co.uk, which allows fan to fan sales at face value plus a booking fee.

The musician and his team have said from the start that they will have a strict stance against anyone using secondary ticketing websites to make a profit.

Fans have been reminded that to get in to the shows they must have their tickets, booking confirmation, the credit card used to buy them (or a photocopy) and valid photo ID.
