WEDDINGS ‘Magical day’ for happy couple

The couple: Hayley Anne Joseph, 32, from Barry, and Darren Bryn Joseph, 33, from St Mellons, Cardiff.

Hayley works as a barmaid and Darren works for Legal and General. The wedding: The couple were married at Manor House Hotel, in Penarth, on Saturday, July 8. How they met: The couple bumped into each other when they were on a night out in Varsity in 2012.

Hayley said: “We got on really well and we had our first proper date the following week. The rest, as they say, is history.” The proposal: It proposal for Hayley.

The couple were at Hayley’s parents house one day when Darren secretly asked her dad’s permission for her hand in marriage.

But he didn’t propose there and then – he waited to do something much more romantic.

Darren got down on one knee when the couple were in Barcelona.

She added: “We had a magical day with all our family and friends.

“It was the best day ever. The weather was gorgeous and there are just lovely surroundin­gs at the Manor House. Everyone looked lovely.”

The wedding was particular­ly special as people travelled from around the world to be a part of the day.

Family travelled from Spain, Malta and Edinburgh to be a part of the occasion.

There was also a touching tribute to Hayley’s grandparen­ts, who are celebratin­g their diamond wedding on July 20.

As a part of the evening party, Hayley’s mum arranged a surprise anniversar­y waltz for them to honour the occasion.

The couple also had Catherine and Steve, from Weddings Wales Ltd, on hand to capture the best moments of their magical day. The honeymoon: The couple are due to head off to Mexico later in the year.

After a relaxing summer, they will spend time having fun in the sun in October.
