FIGHT TICKETS ON SALE FOR £5K

- WILL HAYWARD Reporter will.hayward@walesonline.co.uk

TICKETS for the upcoming Anthony Joshua fight are selling out fast – and for incredible amounts of money.

At the time of writing there were only four seats remaining in the VIP area with some tickets selling for as much as £5,250.

Joshua will take on Kubrat Pulev on October 28 at the Principality Stadium for his World Heavyweight Championship

One of those eager to see Joshua is 29-year-old Laura James.

She grabbed her tickets yesterday.

She said: “I am a bit of a novice really. My friend got me into boxing at the beginning of the year and this is my first live fight.

“I was going to go for the £200 floor ones but my friend told me to remember the budget and went for the £100 tickets.

“It could go either way but it is a big risk because it could end in the first round and it is lot of money. I think Anthony Joshua will win though.

“It is the event as much as the fight. We are going to go down early and have food with my friend and make a day of it. It might not happen in Cardiff again.

“Last time I put some bets on. It was only £5 but I came away with £70 and my mum said that paid for the ticket.”

Speaking in Cardiff on Monday, Brit Joshua said: “What I’m hearing is that it’s going to be nuts! It’ll just be bouncing up and down and there’s not a bad seat in the house, even though it can hold thousands and thousands of people. Everyone will be happy.”

His record reads 19 fights, 19 wins and 19 knockouts.

When asked if he’d deem himself a failure if he let a fight go 12 rounds, he left nobody in any doubt.

“Yes. This is heavyweight boxing, you have to knock someone out. It’s like with the Klitschko fight, I had to get him out.

“It’s not the same. That’s why it’s exciting, it doesn’t go to the judges, you’ve made the decision.

“It’s just the excitement, it shows that your timing is great, you’re a puncher in the division, you’re force to be reckoned with.

“If they say ‘this guy is tough, this guy has never been stopped before’ and then you go and knock him out in three rounds, it adds value.”
